Our Levels of Care to Help Provide Relief for Your Mental Health Symptoms

At Ocean View, each patient is assessed to determine the most appropriate level of care. Once their level is determined, they will receive the care they require.

Inpatient Psychiatric Care

Our inpatient program provides structured, individualized care and therapeutic services to stabilize and monitor acute psychiatric symptoms. At this level, patients will learn the skills necessary to understand and manage their symptoms before transitioning to the next level of care.
  • Licensed Psychiatric Care
  • 24/7 Nursing and Monitoring
  • 6 Daily Group Sessions
  • Psychoeducational Groups – These groups focus on understanding acute psychosis and its symptoms.
  • Therapeutic Recreation – Therapeutic recreation support includes skills that help you find inner peace (art, painting, music, and animals/pets).
  • Coping Skills Development – Coping skills are essential for managing symptoms and quieting negative thoughts and feelings.
  • Patients are placed in groups based on the severity of their symptoms

Medication Stabilization

Medication stabilization is a key part of our inpatient crisis treatment. We will help monitor medications and prescribe them based on your medical history, needs, and potential side effects. If you are experiencing agitation or other symptoms, appropriate medications may be used to help manage these issues safely. Continuous monitoring allows our healthcare team to make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal care and safety throughout treatment.

Outpatient Levels of Care

Ocean View’s outpatient levels of care follow an inpatient stay or when symptoms aren’t severe enough to warrant hospitalization. Once your symptoms are evaluated, you will be admitted to either our partial hospitalization program (PHP) or intensive outpatient program (IOP). Both levels of care provide a safe, structured environment that supports your symptom management.

Partial Hospitalization Program

Our partial hospitalization program offers intensive daytime treatment to promote the maintenance and management of our patients’ mental health disorder symptoms.
  • Four group sessions a day, meeting five days a week. These sessions include a psychoeducational group led by a social worker and a therapeutic recreation support session led by a recreation therapist.
  • Case management
  • Snacks and lunch

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

While our IOP is a less intensive, structured level of care than our inpatient and PHP programs, we focus on providing the same secure, enjoyable, and compassionate care found in those programs. In addition to the services provided at those levels, our IOP also provides:
  • Focused Coping Skills
  • Community Reintegration

Comprehensive Programs & Stabilization Services

Our medical and mental health teams understand the need for targeted, individualized treatment. While you’re with us, you will receive comprehensive treatment that is tailored to your specific needs. Ocean View’s programs offer:
  • Psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization
  • Structured care for acute episodes
  • Transition planning and discharge coordination
We collaborate with your outside providers to ensure continuity of care once you transition out of our program.

Ongoing Medication Management Support With Our PHP and IOP

After your acute symptoms and medication are stabilized in our inpatient treatment crisis unit, you will transition to a lower level of care, such as our PHP or IOP treatment programs. Both levels of care provide you with medication management services. Continued management of your medication ensures you have the proper dose and type of medication to maintain your clinical improvement.
