Safe & effective treatment

An adult inpatient unit.

Ocean View is a 39 bed psychiatric health facility licensed by the California Department of Health and Human Services and accredited by the Joint Commission. Since 2010, Ocean View has been dedicated to treating individuals with a psychiatric illness in need of intensive inpatient services.

Ocean View provides a unique option for adults experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms to access quality psychiatric care in a voluntary setting with private rooms in the greater Long Beach area.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to serve as a community resource, providing the highest quality inpatient services in a professional and private setting.

We provide individualized clinical care using a multi-disciplinary team approach focused on best practices and evidence-based treatment.

Partnering with community organizations and other healthcare providers is of utmost importance in assisting our patients and their families.

We value your privacy.

Most of the rooms at Ocean View are private. Private rooms for the treatment of psychiatric illness and behavioral disorders in adults are an essential part of the Ocean View experience. We believe that private rooms provide an atmosphere that promotes healing for our patients. Private rooms can help in alleviating the anxiety that may occur when coming to a new environment. Numerous studies have shown that private rooms reduce stress, make it easier for patients to sleep, speed recovery times, and increase privacy and dignity. Since isolation can be a symptom of psychiatric illness and behavioral disorders our staff are trained to identify isolating behaviors versus a patient’s need for privacy.

We want you to feel safe.

We have a safe, secure and private environment. All of the patients on the unit are on a volunteer admission basis. We strike the balance with our patients between being very vigilant of their care and providing them with a calm and private environment to manage acute symptoms. We believe that trust and cooperation, coupled with an experienced staff, can successfully support patients who are in crisis.
