Medication Stabilization During Your Inpatient Stay

At Ocean View, medication stabilization is central to how we support adults experiencing acute mental health crises. Every patient begins with a thorough psychiatric evaluation to understand their history, current symptoms, and previous medication use. From there, our team quickly develops a plan to reduce symptoms that interfere with safety and daily functioning.

Patients are seen by a psychiatrist every day to closely monitor progress, assess side effects, and adjust medications as needed. By focusing on thoughtful medical oversight and collaboration between patients and providers, we aim to help each patient achieve stabilization.

Our Outpatient Program Offerings for Ongoing Support

Whether you are in a partial hospitalization program (PHP) or an intensive outpatient program (IOP), these levels of treatment are structured for individuals who do not need around-the-clock care or acute psychiatric care and stabilization. Outpatient programs are developed to provide empathetic support and treatment. Being in an intensive outpatient program gives you the flexibility to go to work and live at home. You will attend day treatment, including therapy sessions at the center, for a few hours a day.

Partial Hospitalization Program

PHP is an intensive, structured treatment program lasting four to eight hours. You will have several hours of group and personalized individual therapy during the day. Once the day is done, you can go home.
  • Four group sessions a day, meeting five days a week. These sessions include a psychoeducational group led by a social worker and a therapeutic recreation support session led by a recreation therapist.
  • Case management
  • Snacks and lunch

Intensive Outpatient Program

While our IOP is a structured level of care, we focus on providing the same secure, enjoyable, and compassionate care found in our inpatient and PHP levels of care. However, we also include:
  • Focused Coping Skills
  • Community Reintegration

Medication Management Support

Our medical team provides medication management to ensure you’re receiving the care you need. After your acute psychosis symptoms and medication are stabilized, you will transition to a lower level of care, and you will receive medication management services to ensure your continued wellness. Both our PHP and IOP provide continued medication management under the care of our psychiatric team.
