Medication Stabilization

Medication stabilization is a key part of our inpatient crisis treatment. We will help monitor medications and prescribe them based on your medical history, needs, and potential side effects. If you are experiencing agitation or other symptoms, appropriate medications may be used to help manage these issues safely. Continuous monitoring allows our healthcare team to make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal care and safety throughout treatment.

Our Outpatient Levels of Care

Ocean View’s outpatient levels of care follow an inpatient stay or when symptoms aren’t severe enough to warrant hospitalization. Once your symptoms are evaluated, you will be admitted to either our partial hospitalization program (PHP) or intensive outpatient program (IOP). Both levels of care provide a safe, structured care that supports your symptom management.

Partial Hospitalization Program

Patients will transition from inpatient care or begin treatment in our PHP. Individuals who are stable but still require structure will receive treatment at this level of care. Our PHP provides intensive support during the day, which includes:
  • Four group sessions a day, meeting five days a week. These sessions include a psychoeducational group led by a social worker and a therapeutic recreation support session led by a recreation therapist.
  • Case management
  • Snacks and lunch

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

At Ocean View, our IOP offers a flexible schedule. IOP allows you to work, attend school, or manage home responsibilities while continuing treatment in an intensive treatment program. The program provides:
  • Focused Coping Skills
  • Community Reintegration

Programs & Stabilization Services

When you begin your treatment, you will undergo a comprehensive assessment to help us determine the level of care that best suits your unique needs. If you require medical and symptom stabilization, you will receive care in our acute crisis inpatient unit. Whether you’re in inpatient, PHP, or IOP, you will receive comprehensive care such as:
  • Psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization
  • Structured care for acute episodes
  • Transition planning and discharge coordination
We also collaborate with your outside providers to ensure continuity of care once you transition out of our program.

Ongoing Medication Management Support

Appropriate medications may be used to help manage acute psychiatric crisis symptoms safely. Continuous monitoring allows our healthcare team to make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal care and safety throughout treatment and our aftercare and Opt-In programs.
